ICISF - International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc
We are excited to announce our strategic partnership with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). ICISF is dedicated to providing resources and tools to support those affected by critical incidents, with a focus on helping individuals return to normal functioning through Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and other services.
Critical incident stress can impact anyone, in any environment, and the emotional, physical, and spiritual trauma can last long after the event. If left unaddressed, these effects can disrupt families and communities. Unfortunately, many individuals are inadequately trained to cope with or provide the necessary support after a critical incident.
Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) is a method designed to help first responders and others affected by critical incidents. CISM is a peer-driven process that prepares individuals to address emotional or physical challenges before, during, and after an event, helping them continue to perform their duties or return to a normal life.
The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers training and resources for those interested in joining a crisis management team or supporting recovery efforts. Their mission is to be the global leader in providing education, training, consultation, and support services for comprehensive crisis intervention and disaster behavioral health services to emergency responders, other professions, organizations, and communities worldwide.

C.O.P.S. – Concerns of Police Survivors
Each year, between 140 and 160 officers die in the line of duty, leaving their families and colleagues to cope with the loss. C.O.P.S. provides crucial resources to help them rebuild their lives, with no membership fee—because the price paid is already too high. Founded in 1984 with 110 members, C.O.P.S. now has over 80,000 survivors, including spouses, children, parents, siblings, co-workers, and extended family of officers who have died in the line of duty, as defined by the Public Safety Officer Support Act of 2022. C.O.P.S. is governed by a national board of law enforcement survivors, with programs administered by the National Office in Camdenton, Missouri, and over 50 chapters nationwide.
C.O.P.S. offers a variety of programs, including the National Police Survivors' Conference, scholarships, peer support, counseling reimbursement, summer camps, Outward Bound Adventures for young adults, retreats for various family members, trial and parole support, and more. Understanding that a survivor's distress is deeply impacted by an agency's response to the tragedy, C.O.P.S. provides training to law enforcement agencies on how to support survivors. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, C.O.P.S. is funded by grants and donations.
